Live Earth

I was at Live Earth yesterday. This is a fun picture i took from the show during Roger Water’s performance.

Update: It turns out that more than 9 million people tuned into the internet to watch Live Earth. Drawing in the biggest viewership to any live event online, the 7/7/07 concerts racked up nine million streams. Traditionally, I shy away from live events online. After all that’s what television is for. You watch television at prescribed times and webvideo when you want (unless you have a DVR, but then you’re watching TV on a computer anyway). Live webvideo worked for Live Earth concerts because viewers could watch any concert around the world when they wanted and were able to switch from concert to concert giving them an experience they could only get on the web. In the case of Live Earth, live video worked.
