The Politico writes today that Al Franken has outraised Republican Senator Norm Coleman by $300,000 in the most recent FEC filing. Franken has pulled in $1.9 million to Coleman’s $1.6 million.
Democratic Senate challenger Al Franken raised $1.9 million in the second quarter, outpacing all of his rivals. Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) raised $1.6 million for the quarter, while his Democratic primary opponent Mike Ciresi banked $750,000.
Like Obama and Dean before him, Franken raised the $1.9 million from small donations of less than $100.
The money was raised from nearly 28,000 donors. So far in 2007, over 36,000 donors have contributed a grand total of over $3.2 million. The campaign is particularly pleased to note that over 95 percent of contributions in the second quarter were $100 or less.
