For the last few seasons, the big TV networks have been adding a major online component to their web presence for individual shows. Beginning this season, NBC’s “The Office” allows viewers to sign up to apply to be “employees” of the office and blog posts from the characters (not the actors).
For years ABC’s “Lost” has had a great web presence including websites from the Hanso Foundation which on television has very little to do with the actual plot. A whole “Lost” world lives online.
NewTeeVee reports on Hitwise numbers that show how the networks websites stack up. NBC’s “Deal or No Deal” is number one in market share. Their site is pretty cool: videos of the models, blog posts from producers.
ABC and NBC have the most sites in the top 10. The CW (Gossip Girl) and FOX (America’s Most Wanted) each have one site in the top 10. CBS doesn’t have any.
Interesting to note that “Lost” is in the top 10 even though there are no new episodes until 2008.
