In the last few months, there have been a mall shooting in Kansas, a mall shooting in Chicago a school shooting at NIU, a child shot in class in Oxnard, CA and now 8 more dead in a shooting at a bus stop in Los Angeles. Gun violence needs to be addressed and it needs to be stopped. Each day about a dozen people will die by gun violence, these stories won’t make the news, but they need to be.
Five children and three adults were shot Wednesday afternoon by a gunman who opened fire at a busy South Los Angeles bus stop minutes after classes were dismissed at a nearby school.
In a scene of chaos that authorities were still trying to piece together, witnesses described a gunman who seemingly appeared from nowhere and began spraying the crowd indiscriminately. As bystanders dived to the ground, some adults swept up children from the path of gunfire.
